its not like just setting difficulty on elite , i think you mean the V.6 logo wich states increased accuracy but thats just an improvement/adjustment over V.5
the readme says this:
The Terrorist Realism Mod's objective is to adjust the terrorists weapons
and skills to make them more realistic, by making them less accurate,
reduce their range of view depending on lighting conditions and modify
their equipment based on the briefing information.
Mod Aspects:
-Terrorist accuracy reduced. Now the tangos will have a harder
time hitting you at longer ranges, specially with pistols and
machine pistols. Keep in mind that sniper rifles are still quite
accurate and the enemy will, eventually hit you.
-Revised Body Armor. I found interesting that the heaviest form
of armor only could stop pistol calibers. I found that unrealistic
and decided to fix it. Now body armor is adjusted to real life
specifications. Ex. Light (Level II) Armor can stop medium pistol
calibers (9mm, .40Cal). Medium (Level IIIa) Armor can stop most
pistol calibers and SMG rounds, and might stop 1 or 2 Assault
rifle rounds. Heavy (Level III) Armor stops pistol rounds and
is quite effective against rifle rounds (as in better than light
or medium). Keep in mind that enough rounds can pierce the armor.
-Terrorist Skills adjusted. The terrorist skills and stats were
adjusted to represent (lack of) training and expectations of
assault.
-Range of view reduced. The terrorist's field of view was reduced
adjusting to the lighting and weather conditions. It's hard to see
a operative on black camouflage in a very dark room.
With the modification, the map with poorest visibility is the meat
packing plant at night, whereas most day maps have full visibility.
-Modified Equipment. The equipment that the tangos have now
reflects more realistically the briefing files. If the briefing
says the the terrorist "won't be firing cheap AK47 rip-offs" you
won't see AK47s or RPDs, you may see M16s or M60s or even AK74s.
If the briefing says that police officers were "taking AK47 fire"
you will see some AK47s here and there. This also fixes a bug in
Raven Shield 2.0 on Operation Broken Stone and Operation Briar
Gate in which the friendly AI would not shoot the tangos that
would release the nerve gas or delete the evidence.
Also, Gospic now holds an SPP pistol, as seen on the briefing
videos.
-Armored Foes. Something I missed from the Rogue Spear days is
that some of the terrorists weared body armor because they used
to be military soldiers or are very rich guys that can afford it.
Either way, the armor made it a bit harder to incapacitate and
kill the tangos. Raven Shield's tangos don't have any armor.
Even in 2.0, despite having some guys with a black vest, they
don't have any ballistic protection. This changes with version
5.0. Now the terrorist with the black vests in 2.0 (and with
green vests in vanilla) have what equals to your team's medium
body armor. The armor appears on the latter levels, so either
use heavy weapons or go for the head, or arms, or legs.
-Support for Athena Sword and Iron Wrath.
interesting
im gonna use it for the SP campaign now
We already have tango patrol. Sometimes we turn it on for fun but some maps its horrible.
That mod sounds like i might as well put the server on elite lol. We have enough issues passing missions as is heh
the "Adjusted terrorist accuracy, stats ..." part sounds really good
theres also a tango patrol mod made for multiplayer wich lets the enemy wander around the map
http://www.moddb.com/mods/tango-patrol
this would UP the replayability of the maps
I think its only single player tango changes. Maybe i can try. They do often flank us haha. Depends on the map programmer
i wish we could use/test this enemy AI mod on the tango hunt server
http://www.moddb.com/mods/terrorist-rea … ism-mod-v6
it seems to improve the gameplay a lot, while keeping realism in mind ++
having tangos that use cover or try to flank would be even better but i dont know if that exists
I suppose this is somewhat ironic, considering that I made an enormous amount of mods for this game back in the day, but actually I'm in favor of minimal mods as well. I like a vanilla game. I think that a server, however, should be outfitted with various tweaks to enable more administrator support and features (eg ability to vote for what map you want queued next, ability for administrators to mute annoying players, prevent zulu abuse, etc).
i dont like the idea of having scopes on all rifles because sometimes no zoom is not enough but a minimal zoom(like zoom without a scope) helps just enough for aiming AND doesnt block half of the screen, wich a scope does
i also very dislike this "mutant"-weapons, what i mean is the option to put a 100rounds mag on all rifles, first it looks really ugly and then theres no need for MGs anymore and they are rarely used anyways... many servers have that(100r mags+SCOPE) as a standart wich really sucks IMO
addon weapons YES
forced scope big NO
yeah i feel the same way. I think adding all the original guns and gadgets from Athena Sword and Iron Wrath is absolutely great and something i always missed from rvs multiplayer. But i think that should be it and nothing additional is needed. I for one, and until now at least no other player has expressed great excitement (when i was on the server) for the added weapon scope/attachments mod. I could be wrong about how the playerbase feels about this of course, hence others might think about expressing their inclination towards that specific mod.
I think the break of immersion (because you've got a scope that is not modeld in 3d is) kinda not worth that extra combination you now have of having a scope+either silencer or large magazine. There is 3 good assault rifles that allow for the combo scope+silencer or large ammo in vanilla. I feel that this is what makes rvs such a special and mor engaging experience compared to BF or COD. I do have to make a choice about what setup to bring to a mission...and i have to coordinate with my team mates about who has long range capability, who is a door buster, whos got thermal....you catch my drift.
What do you guys think about this specific mod? You prefer it over the vanilla way of '...you gotta make a hard choice about what to bring to the party'?
We wont be modding them. The only thing that was added was guns from Athena Sword and Iron Wrath. Most of us hate extensive mods too!
Dovahkiin brings up some good points. That's good to hear Recognition.

I don't know if actually I can post here or not.. but anyway..
I just connected to AllR6 Tango Hunt and Missions servers and I've noticed that some new mods have been added.
Well I just wanted to say a personal thing: don't start modding the server like hell guys, please. Personally, one of the reason I like AllR6 servers is because they are kinda default. In my opinion there are way too many modded servers already in RVS. It can be fun, sure, but (always in my opinion) they ruin completely the game.
Ok, for now there are just only a few new weapons etc, but that's how it starts, with a few and simple things. Then another day you will add only another thing. 10 days later it will happen the same And also 20 days later maybe. And at the end, we will finish having a server completely modded...
I hope all this will not happen and it stops here with those few new weapons.
It is not my intention, with this post, to start a discussion. I just wanted to say what I think (and kinda warn you, because I bet I'm not the only one who has this thought), and nothing else.
Cya on the battlefield!
